Sports Therapy is a specialist area of musculoskeletal healthcare. Despite the name, it’s not just for athletes. Sports Therapists are musculoskeletal clinicians who assess, treat and rehabilitate pain, injury and movement problems using evidence-informed assessment, exercise therapy, rehabilitation and hands-on treatment. Whether your symptoms have developed through sport, work, exercise or everyday life, every appointment begins with a thorough assessment before creating an individual treatment plan tailored to your needs. Sports Therapists work across private practice, professional sport, occupational health, education, the armed forces and the NHS, helping people reduce pain, improve function and return to the activities that matter most.
Sports Massage is suitable for much more than sport. It can help manage muscular tension, stiffness and physical fatigue associated with exercise, work or everyday life. Every treatment is tailored to your individual needs and may focus on one specific area or several areas depending on your goals and appointment length. The aim is to help you move more comfortably, support recovery and leave you feeling better prepared for the demands of training, work and daily life.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy uses specially designed stainless steel instruments to apply controlled pressure to muscles and other soft tissues. At Sports Therapy One, RockBlades® instruments may be used alongside Sports Massage, movement and rehabilitation where clinically appropriate. Treatment is tailored to your individual needs and aims to help reduce muscular tension, improve comfort and support movement as part of a wider treatment and rehabilitation programme.
Dry Cupping Therapy uses specialist silicone cups to create controlled suction over the skin and underlying soft tissues. At Sports Therapy One, RockPods® may be used alongside Sports Massage, movement and rehabilitation where clinically appropriate. Treatment is tailored to your individual needs and may help reduce feelings of muscular tension, improve comfort and make movement feel easier as part of a wider treatment and rehabilitation programme.
Kinesiology Taping may be used as part of your Sports Therapy or Sports Massage appointment where it is considered appropriate for your symptoms, activity and treatment goals. Unlike rigid sports tape, it is designed to move naturally with your body while allowing normal movement. It may provide short-term support, improve movement awareness and complement your rehabilitation programme as part of an individual treatment plan following assessment.
Kinesiology tape can be applied during your appointment where clinically appropriate, and additional tape is available to purchase in clinic.
Mobile appointments provide the same personalised approach as clinic-based Sports Therapy and Sports Massage, delivered in the comfort of your own home across Coventry, Kenilworth, Warwick, Leamington Spa and surrounding areas of Warwickshire.
They are ideal if travelling is difficult, you have reduced mobility or home treatment is simply more convenient. Every appointment is tailored to your individual needs and may include assessment, hands-on treatment, rehabilitation exercises and practical advice to help you move more comfortably and return to the activities that matter to you.
