Meet Stuart

About Me

I’m Stuart Sahan, a Clinical Sports Therapist helping people recover from injury, manage pain and move with greater confidence. Whether your goal is returning to sport, overcoming persistent pain or simply feeling more comfortable in everyday life, my aim is to work with you to understand what’s contributing to your symptoms and develop a plan that supports your recovery.

I believe the best outcomes come through working in partnership. Rather than simply focusing on an injury or painful area, I take time to understand the wider picture, including your lifestyle, work, activity levels, previous injuries, stress, sleep and the goals that are important to you. Recovery isn’t just about treatment. It’s about helping you better understand your body, build confidence in movement and take an active role in your rehabilitation.

I know that for many people, particularly those living with persistent pain or movement anxiety, recovery can feel uncertain. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is helping people regain confidence in what their body is capable of, breaking rehabilitation down into realistic, achievable steps and supporting them throughout the process.

I graduated from Coventry University with a First Class Honours degree in Sport and Exercise Therapy and am an England Athletics Event Group Endurance Running Coach, alongside holding Level 3 Personal Trainer and Level 2 Fitness Coach qualifications. My clinical work includes Sports Therapy, Sports Massage, rehabilitation, movement assessment and a range of evidence informed treatment techniques, including Dry Cupping Therapy, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy (IASTM), electrotherapy and kinesiology taping where clinically appropriate.

Alongside my clinical practice, I bring more than 15 years of healthcare experience, including frontline and leadership roles within adult substance misuse services. Working in behaviour change strengthened my communication, active listening and person centred approach, reinforcing the importance of understanding the individual rather than simply focusing on the condition.

Building on that experience, I have completed additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred Counselling, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Matrix Reimprinting. While these are not services I provide within the clinic, they have broadened my understanding of the physical, psychological and social factors that can influence pain, recovery and long term wellbeing. They continue to shape the way I communicate, educate and support clients throughout their rehabilitation.

“I always look forward to my Sports Massage sessions with Stuart. He’s such an attentive listener that I often leave feeling like I’ve had a Sports Massage and a talking therapy session all in one. I always walk away feeling better, both physically and mentally.”

Client testimonial

As a Graduate Member of the Sports Therapy Association (MSTA), I am committed to evidence informed practice, continuing professional development and working collaboratively with every client to help them better understand their condition, make informed decisions and achieve the goals that matter most to them.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

Every appointment begins with a conversation. We’ll discuss your symptoms, medical history, activity levels, previous injuries, lifestyle and any other factors that may be influencing your recovery. This helps build a clear understanding of what may be contributing to your symptoms and allows us to agree on the most appropriate way forward together.

You’ll then undergo a thorough assessment of your movement, strength, mobility and any relevant joints or soft tissues. Where appropriate, treatment will begin during the same appointment and may include Sports Therapy, Sports Massage, rehabilitation, movement coaching or other evidence informed techniques tailored to your individual needs.

Before you leave, we’ll discuss the findings together and agree on a realistic plan moving forwards. This may include rehabilitation exercises, activity guidance, pain education and practical strategies to support your recovery between appointments.

My aim is for you to leave every session feeling listened to, informed and confident about your next steps, with a personalised plan that supports your recovery, performance and long term wellbeing.

Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing persistent pain, improving your performance or simply wanting to move with greater confidence, I’d be pleased to help.

Recovery looks different for everyone. My role is to help you understand what’s contributing to your symptoms, support you in making informed decisions and work with you towards the goals that are important to you.
