ABOUT ME
I’m Stuart Sahan, a Sports Therapist helping people move better, feel stronger, and build long term resilience whether that means returning to sport, managing ongoing pain, or simply feeling more confident in everyday movement.
I work using a holistic, biopsychosocial approach, looking beyond symptoms to understand the full picture. That means considering not just your injury, but also your lifestyle, stress, beliefs about pain, and personal goals. Recovery isn’t just about treating tissues. It’s about understanding how your body, mind, and environment interact, and creating realistic plans that fit you.
I hold a First Class Honours degree in Sport and Exercise Therapy and I’m an England Athletics Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF), alongside Level 3 Personal Trainer and Level 2 Fitness Coach qualifications. My clinical work includes Sports Massage, Dry Cupping, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM), Electrotherapy, Kinesiology Taping, Postural Assessment, and Athlete Profiling. My approach is shaped by experience across impact sports including rugby, MMA, fencing, alongside involvement in local running communities.
Alongside clinical practice, I bring over 15 years of experience in wider healthcare, including frontline and leadership roles in adult substance misuse services. This background influences how I work today, with a strong focus on communication, behaviour change, and person centred care, supported by additional training in cognitive behavioural therapy, person centred counselling, and brief solution focused therapy.
I’m committed to evidence informed practice as a graduate member of the Sports Therapy Association and I work collaboratively with clients, helping you better understand your body and your recovery, rather than simply treating symptoms.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR FIRST SESSION
Your first appointment is a 60 minute session designed to give us time to properly understand you, not just your symptoms.
We’ll start with a detailed conversation about your injury or concern, your activity levels, lifestyle, previous injuries, and any factors that may be influencing your recovery, including stress, sleep, and work demands. This helps build a clear picture of what’s really going on.
You’ll then have a physical assessment looking at movement, strength, and relevant joints or tissues, followed by appropriate hands on treatment where needed. This may include soft tissue work, mobilisation, or other techniques suited to your presentation.
Before you leave, we’ll discuss findings together and create a clear, realistic plan moving forward. This may include exercises, activity guidance, pain education, and practical strategies you can use straight away.
My aim is for you to leave feeling listened to, informed, and confident about your next steps, with a plan custom to you.

Stuart is very knowledgeable and has a kind and calm demeanour. After years of having problems with my knees and being sceptical that physio would help, I gave in and decided to give it a whirl. After my first set of exercises to try for 4 weeks, I found a noticeable difference. Not only does he have sports and physio knowledge, he also had knowledge of epilepsy and the medication I have to take. Which is super helpful and made me feel secure.Posted on Priya VTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
