Running Biomechanics Assessment

Evidence Informed Running Biomechanics, Gait Assessment and Video Analysis

Whether you’re training for your first 5K, preparing for a marathon or simply looking to gain a better understanding of your running, this assessment combines practical coaching, video analysis and Sports Therapy expertise to provide a comprehensive evaluation of your running biomechanics.

Rather than looking for a single “perfect” running style, the assessment is designed to help you better understand how you run. Using video analysis, biomechanical assessment and clinical reasoning, you’ll receive practical, evidence informed recommendations tailored to your individual goals.

Lasting approximately 60 to 75 minutes, assessments take place at an appropriate local running track or open space across Coventry and Warwickshire, allowing your running to be observed in a natural environment.

Who is this assessment for?

This assessment is designed specifically for endurance runners aged 12 years and over and is not intended for sprint performance coaching.

Whether your goal is to improve your understanding of your running biomechanics, work towards improving your running economy and efficiency, prepare for an upcoming event from 5K through to marathon distance, gain confidence before starting a new training block or simply better understand your running technique, this assessment provides an opportunity to explore your running in greater detail.

Having a biomechanics assessment before the start of a training block can provide valuable insight into your running technique and identify areas you may wish to focus on throughout your training. A follow up assessment closer to your event can then be used to review your progress and compare any changes over time.
